I introduce the most popular singer in my country. He is very famous singer ‘PSY’.
Psy’s Gangnam Style and Gentleman music video is running as the top video on the Youtube.
He is no exaggeration to say World star.

 

 

In addition, He aroused attention about Korea to overseas country. The foreigners want to come to the Korea and learn about Korea. Also, We hear that Psy’s Gangnam Style music on overseas country. They are singing Gangnam Style music and enjoy dance of this music. As a result, He makes many people know about Korea and increase tourist from overseas country to Korea. This is called ‘Psy’s effect’ in Korea. In a word, He is not only Korea society but also world society called very influential person.

Look at this picture, do you know them? I think if you are Korean, your answer is ‘Yes’. If you are not Korean, maybe you don’t know them. Do you wonder their group name? Their group name is ‘Wonder Girls’! Their achievement in Korea is wonder like their group name.

‘Wonder Girls’ is famous idol group in Korea. They sang ‘Tell Me’, this song is retro melody, retro fashion and retro dance. This song became trendy retro style in 2007.

When I am middle school student, they sang ‘Tell Me’. My class mates played the song every lunch and break time on the computer. They sang along and followed ‘Tell Me’ dancing. Besides my class mates, ‘Tell Me’ trendy spread all over the country. Many people wore retro fashion following Wonder Girls. Some people followed Wonder Girls dancing and they posted the remaking dancing video in YouTube. For instance, teacher, police and firefighter dancing versions of ‘Tell Me’ are hits video in YouTube.

After Tell Me album, Wonder Girls keep retro style trendy through album So Hot, Nobody in 2008. As well this song hit on a national scale. Nowadays they decrease popularity. However I know that many people remember they are still retro queen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Big Bang.

I introduce the most popular artist and it is Big-Bang. They are a group of five members. Each name is G-Dragon, T.O.P, Tae-yang, Seung-ri, and Dae-sung.

 

This Group is different from the other groups. Because there are personalities of their own. Specifically, the song listed on all album, directly, g-dragon write the lyrics and make a melody. Peoples love Big-Bang song. Big-Bang’s fans primarily the Big-Bang using as role models has much case. Peoples like a song that they has made and this song is sound source No.1.

 

  I think it’s amazing and great as artist. After that Big-Bang’s song is hit, other groups increased write the lyrics and make a melody case. Big-Bang members fashion as well as song also affects fans all over the world.

Our Korea’s the most famous singer is probably ‘P.S.Y’. He is very popular singer in Korea. Although you are foreigner maybe you heard that name once. His famous song is ‘KangNam Style.’ The song’s melody is awesome and absolutely Dancing is fantastic too. Actually when I was in highschool I danced ‘GangNam style’ in festival. GangNamstyle Music Video became popular which was upload in Youtube.  So  American also liked that music and almost American had known his name. Due to ‘PSY’ we can inform our Korea to the world. Specially In American it was good reaction. Through that we can also inform our Korea’s dancing. And dancing included on music video either we can show our Korea’s cultures. Finally I think that due to PSY’s popularity makes us feel self-respect.

 Hi my name is Suk Gunhee. My hobby is listening to music and singing so I like music and so interest that. My favorite music genre is ballad. Many of Korean singer is ballad singer so I like Korea music and musician. My favorite Korean singer is Sung Si Kyoung. His nickname is Sungballa, because he is best of ballad singer in Korea. He works on positive lines not only singer but also TV program, for example talk show. His voice and skill at talking fascinate s people and so fun. So many people in Korea, love him(one of part is me). Moreover he is so smart student his schooldays. He entrances and graduates Goryeo national university.  “Wonder girls” is one of the most popular artists in South Korea. Because 'tell me' of Wonder girls' songs was big hit in all parts of the country. In 2007, this song was released. All of people liked 'tell me' without distinction of age or sex. Even the police men, military men, boy students and so on danced and took a video. Also, there was another big hit song of Wonder girls. It was exactly 'Nobody.' This song was released in 2008. This song was very popular not only in South Korea but also in America. They became models advertising school uniform, clothes, shoes, food, cosmetics and so on in Korea. In addition to these, “Wonder girls” influenced society in various ways.

The most popular artist in Korea is Seo Taiji. He was born in February 21, 1972. He is called cultural president. He was leader of team, Seo Taiji and Boys. Seo Taiji and Boys was organized in 1991 and disbanded in 1996. Hit songs of Seo Taiji and Boys are ‘I know’, ‘You in My Fantasy’, ‘Hayeoga’, ‘Dreaming of the Balhae Kingdom’, ‘Come Back Home’, etc. Seo Taiji and Boys starts new style song, rap and dance music. Seo Taiji and Boys was very popular among teenagers. After Seo Taiji and Boys appeared, rap and dance music make mainstream in Korea. Also, their song’s lyrics handle social issues. They influenced society. Seo Taiji composed all of these songs and wrote these songs’ lyrics. Seo Taiji declared retire in 1996, but he came back in 2000. After he came back, he is still popular. Now, he has played continuously. His hit songs are ‘Ultramania’, ‘Moai’, ‘Sogyeokdong’, ‘Christmalo.win’, etc. These songs were ranked top of the charts. He is respected by many artists.

I will introduce the most popular actor in my country, Korea. I think the most popular actor is Byeong Hun Lee. He is very handsome and he has short height but nice body shape. And always he keeps serious face. He acts in many popular movies in Korea, and Hollywood! Do you know the movie “G. I. Joe” ? He acts ‘Storm shadow’ in G. I. Joe character.

 

Also, he makes collaboration with ‘Bruce Willis’ and is casted the movie ‘Red: the Legend’ together. And he emerged short time in the movie, ‘Terminator: Genisys’

The most popular artist in Korea is ‘Sonyeosidae’.(If translate, ‘Girl’s generation’) Sonyeosidae is girl group idol star and consist of 8 girls. At first, they were 9 girls, 1 member left. They debut in 2007 and became 8^th this year. Of course they have many hit songs, and they have many fans all over the world. Because they are pretty and thin(Of course they are good at singing. But Korean see just appearance when they see idol.), the most of women envy Sonyeosidae. So, many girls imitate their hair style, fashion, accessory etc. They take the lead trend. And people have their eye on Sonyeosidae, even their scandal. They have a power like this. I wish they were more famous globally and they introduced Korea more and more.

The most popular artist in Korea is EXO. EXO is idol group in Korea. They consist of 9 people. They are very handsome, and they have great songs. So they are loved by many people. Also, they are very popular in China. So, Chinese fans visit Korea more than previous. They influence many teenagers. For example, they have a song that name is addiction (overdose). So, when teenagers take an exam at the English academy, they have to write addiction’s meaning. But, many teenagers wrote overdose instead of addiction. One day, EXO invited yonsei university festival, university students sell the ticket more expensive than they buy. Then many teenagers buy expensive ticket in order to show them. So, this news was broadcasted to illustrate the idol group giving effect to teenagers. In this way, EXO influence our society.

In Colombia we have a musical genre called Vallenato, this rate was developed from half of last century on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. Vallenato is a musical rhythm consists of three instruments: drum, maracas and accordion. These three instruments are the mixture of three cultures: indigenous, African and European. Similarly, three people set up the vallenato, who plays the accordion also sings.

However, with the passage of time vallenato music ensembles they have incorporated modern instruments making them attractive for young people. At present there are more than one hundred sets vallenato, but only 20 have achieved fame throughout Colombia.

A vallenato group led by singer Carlos Vives has transcended the borders of Colombia and is now recognized in many countries of the world, Carlos Vives, was born in Santa Marta - Colombia, my city, who has won several times the Latin Grammy awards.

Carnival is considered one of the most entertaining popular festivals and representative of the world. It has its origin in Portuguese Shrovetide, where in the past people played one another, water, eggs and flour. The Shrovetide happened in the period before Lent and therefore had a significance attached to freedom. This sense remains to this day the Carnival.  History of Carnival.

 

In the late nineteenth century, needed begin to appear the first carnival blocks, cords and the famous "Corsicans". The latter became popular in the early twentieth centuries. People fantasized, decorated their cars, and groups paraded through the city streets. There is the origin of the allegorical, typical of today's samba schools cars.

 In the twentieth century, the carnival was growing and becoming an increasingly popular party. This growth occurred with the help of carnival music. The samba songs left the increasingly lively carnival.

 The first samba school appeared in Rio de Janeiro and was called Let’s Talk. It was created by carioca samba called Ismael Silva. Years later Let’s Talk became the Estacio de Sa samba school. From there (1968), the street carnival begins to gain a new format. They begin to emerge new samba schools in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Organized in Samba Schools alloys, the first championships begin to find what samba school was more beautiful and lively.

The street carnival maintained their original traditions in northeastern Brazil. In cities like Recife and Olinda, people leave the streets during Carnival in the rhythm of frevo and maracatu.

The Guinness Book of World Records presents the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro as the world's largest. According to the book, the popular festival has the participation of about 2 million revelers per day.
